Electrical Engineer
Overview
AGD Innovations have 2 sectors within the business, AGD Renewables and AGD M&E. Due to a secured portfolio of work we have an exciting opportunity for an additional Electrical Engineer with at least 5 year’s post qualified experience working in electrical engineering to join our team based in Gilford, Northern Ireland on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will be part of the installation and support team within AGD, working in both sectors of the business. The role will include:
Installing high end solar and energy storage systems in both domestic and commercial scenarios
Electrical wiring, inspecting and testing of commercial properties
Electrical maintenance support within commercial facilities
Control panel design, build and repair
Process Automation etc.
With previous experience struggling to source quality contractors, AGD saw a gap in the market for clients requiring quality, high end workmanship, using quality components and a reliable support service so that the client is never left isolated.

Position Responsibilities
- Installation of high end solar and energy storage systems
- Electrical installations, commissioning, inspecting and testing
- Control panel design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and repair
- Process automation –installation, commissioning and trouble shooting
- Electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Post installation customer support and troubleshooting.
Essential Skills and requirements
- NVQ level 3 qualified
- C&G 2391 Inspecting and Testing
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Minimum 5 years’ post qualified experience in a wide variety of proven scenarios
- Ability to read electrical drawings
- A proven history of electrical installations with inspecting, testing and fault finding
- An ability to work within a team or individually
- Strong attention to detail, good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise with changing situations
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
- Trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
- Work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Overtime as required to meet project deadlines
- An awareness of general Health and Safety regulations
Desirable skills and requirements
- Electrical design experience
- CDM experience
- PLC programming and SCADA experience desirable but not essential
- Renewable energy experience
- Willingness to participate in a rotational on-call schedule
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years post qualification electrical experience
- NVQ Level 3 or higher.
- C&G 2391
Salary: Negotiable based on experience Hours of work
- 5 day week
- Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm
- Friday 8am – 1pm
- Hours / days may vary during site installations and follow up support.
